Zodiac was established in 1882 by Ariste Calame in Le Locle, Switzerland. The company registered the "Zodiac" name in 1908 and began producing its own calibers.

The Sea Wolf dive watch arrived in 1953 — one of the earliest consumer dive watches, alongside the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. The Super Sea Wolf later achieved 750m water resistance and was adopted by U.S. Navy SEALs in the early 1970s.

Fossil Group acquired Zodiac in 2001. Production remains Swiss-made. Current collections include Super Sea Wolf (dive), Olympos (dress), and heritage reissues. The brand uses STP (Swiss Technology Production) automatic movements.

Zodiac sits in the mid-tier at €500–1,500, appealing to collectors who like vintage-inspired designs with bold colors and retro touches.
