Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile in Le Locle, Switzerland. The brand has been part of the Swatch Group since 1983.

Tissot produces the first Swiss wristwatch (1907), developed the T-Touch with sapphire touchscreen interface (1999), and revived the PRX design from the 1970s in 2020 to wide success. The brand serves as the Swatch Group's volume play in the accessible Swiss watch market.

Automatic watches run €500–2,000. The Powermatic 80 movement (80-hour power reserve) appears across multiple collections and is a strong value proposition at its price point. Collections include PRX, Gentleman, Seastar, and Chemin des Tourelles.
