Down Pillows - Kauffmann vs Mühldorfer

Comparison of premium German down pillows - ordered the Kauffmann De Luxe 100.

Research into premium German down pillows. After comparing the two main contenders, I ordered the Kauffmann De Luxe 100 in 40 x 60 cm, extra weich, at 189,05 EUR.

Kauffmann De Luxe 100 (ordered)

The top-of-line pillow from Kauffmann (brand: Sanders Kauffmann). The "100" refers to the Mako-Batist fabric grade and the 100% goose down filling.

The more affordable option. Different philosophy - uses a feather-heavy mix for more support.

Why Kauffmann won

The Kauffmann is more than double the price but it's a different class of product. 100% goose down vs 30/70 down-feather mix means a much softer, lighter pillow. The Bramscher Tuch fabric and Mako-Batist cover are premium touches. For a stomach sleeper who wants a cloud-like feel, the De Luxe 100 was the clear choice. The Mühldorfer Classic is a solid side-sleeper pillow at a fair price but not what I was looking for.
