Background
The 856 S UTC is a pilot's watch with UTC second timezone function and full anti-magnetic shielding. Introduced in the 2000s, it combines Sinn's signature Tegiment hardening with precision chronometer-grade timekeeping for professional aviation use. The 40mm case and technical specification set have made it popular as a versatile daily watch among collectors.
Notes
Bought at the Sinn manufacture in Frankfurt in 2009 for €1,375. Has been my daily watch for fifteen years — absorbed knocks, saltwater, airplane cabins. The tegimented steel case shrugged off everything until it finally stopped recently.
