Background
The Big Crown ProPilot line descends from the original Oris Big Crown, a cockpit watch designed in 1938 with an oversized crown for use with flight gloves. The Big Date variant adds a double-window date display at 3 o'clock for improved legibility. It uses a modified Sellita SW 220-1 base (Oris Calibre 751) rather than the in-house Calibre 400 found in higher-priced ProPilot models.
