Death is a chemical reaction.
Usually, and ideally, people want to die in their sleep - for fear of death.
Assuming a painless death, I would prefer to be awake when it happens.
The ultimate emotional experience.
The last powerful human emotion to experience before leaving this reality.
Seeing and experiencing as much as possible what it feels like - instead of transitioning from sleep state.
I think because it is a chemical reaction, it can be similar to drugs - if you go into it with fear and other negative feelings, the likelihood of a bad trip is very high.
But if you go into it with curiosity and openness, the experience can be the most powerful there is, touching at a deeper level than typical life emotions.
