Ingredients:
- 375 grams all-purpose flour
- 0.25 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 350 milliliters lukewarm water
Instructions:
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Stir to combine.
-
Add the lukewarm water to the dry ingredients and stir until the dough comes together. The dough will be sticky and shaggy.
-
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
-
Preheat your oven to 230°C. Place a 4-6 quart cast iron Dutch oven with its lid in the oven to preheat for at least 30 minutes.
-
Remove the Dutch oven from the oven and carefully place the dough in the center of the pot. It's ok if the dough looks messy - it will even out as it bakes.
-
Replace the lid on the Dutch oven and return it to the oven.
-
Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crusty.
-
Remove the bread from the Dutch oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
