Looking at it just as an electric car company, is like looking at Amazon as an online books store 20 years ago.
This video shows current state of Full-Self Driving (for those lucky enough to be in the Beta program).
As they have dropped sensors, this is based only on cameras (vision) + AI.
"all sensors are noise; let me make a stronger statement - all those using LiDar will one day have to drop it” - Andrej Karpathy (former AI Director at Tesla)

And the Optimus humanoid robot Proof Of Concept showed that you can "transplant" the car's brain into a bipedal robot, with a lot of synergies.
So all progress on the car front - leading to a massive shift in the automotive industry, eg robotaxis - will benefit the upcoming robot, which arguably has a higher economic potential/impact.
Not mentioning the opportunity to license its AI to other legacy car manufacturers, seeing how they struggle (not being software companies at heart and lacking the real-world data Tesla has accumulated).
