bunny.net is a content delivery network and edge platform. It stores your files, images and videos, and serves them from servers close to each visitor, so pages and videos load fast anywhere. It started as a cheap CDN and grew into a toolbox: video hosting, storage, image optimisation, DNS, security, and code that runs at the edge.
Its pitch against Cloudflare, Akamai and AWS CloudFront: simple usage-based prices, no request fees, and a European company.

Why people pick it: the price is easy to understand and low. You pay per gigabyte delivered and stored, with no fee per request, and a monthly minimum of $1. Monthly spending limits stop a traffic spike from turning into a surprise bill.

Traffic from Storage to the CDN is free, and Storage has no API fees.
Stream is the standout for video. Encoding and the player cost nothing extra, and content protection is included. For a site that hosts its own training or marketing videos, the bill is storage plus delivery, a fraction of a traditional video platform.
The limits:
- It's infrastructure, not a platform. Stream handles upload, encoding and playback. It doesn't cover the enterprise video needs of a large company: search inside videos, analytics per viewer, access rules tied to company logins, or integrations with learning and CRM systems.
- Cloudflare is bigger. Its free tier covers many small sites, and its security and edge-compute offer is wider.
- Enterprise support with a dedicated account manager and 24/7 cover is a paid option.
For technical people
- Pull zones are the core concept: point a zone at your origin, and bunny.net caches and serves your files from its hostname or yours.
- 2 networks. The Standard network uses all 119 locations and prices by region. The Volume network uses 10 large locations at a flat, lower rate, suited to heavy downloads and video.
- Storage zones replicate files to up to 9 regions (Standard) or 15 (Edge), and connect to a pull zone with free transfer between them.
- Optimizer resizes and converts images on the fly as they're served, the same idea as ImageKit or Cloudflare Images.
- Stream has an API for uploads and video libraries, delivers through the CDN, and includes content protection at no extra cost.
- Edge Scripting and Magic Containers move it towards Cloudflare Workers territory: code and containers near the user.

Value
I serve the images of this site through ImageKit, which does storage, CDN and image transforms in 1 product. bunny.net would do the same job with Storage, CDN and Optimizer, with a flat $9.50 a month for the optimiser and cents for the traffic. It's worth a comparison if my image traffic grows, or if I want 1 European provider for images, downloads and video.
The Stream pricing is the part to remember: free encoding and player, and a few dollars a month for a small video library. For personal projects and demo sites, that's the simplest way to host videos without YouTube's branding and recommendations.
