I'm in the process of contracting with 6 new Enterprises. Between Legal, IT/InfoSec & Commercial for each, that's 59 live workstreams in parallel 😅
Why so many? Each contract requires e.g. NDA, T&Cs, DPA, SLA, local requirements, security documents, security questionnaires, AI compliance, technical specs, billing information, order form matching requirements, supplier registration, etc...
All this running at the same time as RFPs, other complex projects I'm working on, active opportunities not (yet) at contracting stage & prospecting activities.
My old way of tracking the contracting phase(s) was starting to crack... and I was dropping balls 😬
So (A)I spent some time over the week-end with Claude, building a new "contracts" skill for this (my 54th Claude skill 🤓).
It's both simple and fits perfectly in my personal, keyboard-only, workflows:
→ One Markdown file (.md) per contract, same shared template, a section for every workstream, and central overview of all the key infos & links.
→ When something happens, a couple of keyboard shortcuts from anywhere to drop a single dated line into the right file, in the right section. I just type what happened: "DPA received", "NDA sent back". 10 seconds & I'm back to work. Or I can do it within Claude directly.
→ Then, at any point, one button (on my Streamdeck) runs a Python script triggering Claude agents that (re)builds a full overview across all active contract files: status & next steps for every contract, plus a table-based exec summary I can copy/paste & share straight to management.
Yes, I could have tried/used a typical project management app.
But why bend my needs to fit the constraints of a tool built for everyone/everything.. when AI lets me build the exact workflow I want, with agents doing the bulk of the tracking & reporting?
Currently most people still stop at using AI to write their emails.. there is so much potential with agentic AI to help with every single work-related task. If you're not yet, I encourage you to start diving in, learning & building 💪🏼
This now fits my work style & constraints like a glove, makes sure I don't drop balls across 59 workstreams (hopefully! 🤞🏼), and gives me a clean exec report on any contract with one push of a button.
