The Sinn 556 I B is the blue sunray dial edition of the 556 I. Same 38.5mm satinierte Edelstahl case, same SW200-1 movement, same applied baton indices - but with a galvanic blue dial finished with Sonnenschliff (sunburst) that shifts through blue tones depending on the light. The "B" stands for Blau.

Blue galvanic dial with sunburst finish. Applied rhodinierte indices, diamond-cut. The sunburst treatment catches light and produces a range of blue tones from deep navy to bright cobalt depending on angle. Same layout as the standard 556 I - baton indices at all hours, no date.

Context
The 556 I B sits between the standard 556 I (black dial, €1,190) and the 556 I S (mother-of-pearl, discontinued). At 38.5mm it wears smaller than most current tool watches - good for a dress-sport crossover. The blue sunray dial adds personality while keeping it office-appropriate. Same movement and case construction as the rest of the 556 line. 20 bar WR and Unterdrucksicher (low-pressure resistant) are unusual at this price and size - genuinely usable in water, not just splash-proof.
Compared to my 856 S UTC (40mm, Tegimented, magnetic field protection), this is smaller, lighter, and dressier. No special technologies, just a well-made everyday watch with a standout dial.
