One idea that could help prevent going down the road of custom terms in the first place, or help support the efforts going into it, would be to add a "Custom Terms" SKU, say at $3,000.
Standard license comes with standard terms. If client wants to negotiate terms, the SKU has to be added.
This might be waived as part of negotiations – providing another negotiation card.
It could also nudge some clients to accept our standard terms considering the financial impact for them of going custom.
And if they go for it, this is additional revenue to help cover the additional work/cost.
Also works for Technical due diligence involving our engineering team - at $5,000.
No additional cost for providing filled out questionnaires as part of the you diligence process.
